How WebEnsure Started

Before there was a platform, there was one developer's frustration with how confusing hosting and website maintenance had become for ordinary customers.

The idea for what's now WebEnsure started back in 2015. I'd been running my own web development company since 2010, and I kept noticing the same thing: customers were confused about hosting and domain management long before we even got to the harder conversation about security and maintenance. Mention WordPress security and I'd watch their eyes glaze over.

Most people don't want to manage the technical side of a website — they want to update a blog, add products, and get on with running their business. So I started helping customers maintain their own sites while staying available whenever they needed a technical hand. Not locked-down hosting, not a walled garden — full admin access, the ability to move elsewhere any time, and someone technical standing by when it mattered.

That idea grew slowly and steadily for years under the name WP-Ensure, and it's the same idea behind WebEnsure today — just applied to a lot more than WordPress now.
