We gave a lightning talk at WordCamp Finland, on the subject of what bots actually do to a website and what can be done about it — nerve-wracking going in, genuinely enjoyable once it was underway, and a good reminder of how welcoming the WordPress community is in person.
A few standout sessions from the rest of the event: a talk on recovering a site's reputation after a hack, one on why native Gutenberg blocks are worth building instead of relying on page builders, and a deep dive into using WP-CLI from the terminal that offered a few tricks worth stealing. Beyond the sessions, it was a good couple of days catching up with old colleagues, taking part in Contributor Day, and hearing directly from some of the strongest WordPress professionals working in Finland and beyond.
